Why gum diseases are considered to be more dangerous on human health than other tooth disease?
Most people did not recognize this fact because gum diseases appear very slowly, not accompanied by pain and takes many years to progress the disease and they rarely visit dental clinic for that.
1. Because of teeth diseases normally affect on one tooth only or two adjacent teeth or spacing teeth.

2. If dental caries occur, there are numerous stages. For each stage, its special signs and symptoms persist as type of pain, its nature, and time of spread differ from one stage to the others.
3. It is possible to treat all stages of dental caries whatever it is. While gum diseases happen in big and large group of teeth as same time, sometimes use all teeth of jaw.
4. When the gum diseases extend into teeth and become in progress, it leads to teeth movement and shaking and here some light and medium pain starts. That will lead some patients to visit dentist but there is no medical way to help tooth.
5. When teeth became mobile as a result of gum diseases, then it must be extracted in sipite of the teeth free from any caries. It makes patient sad to lose his teeth without caries because all people think that the only cause of tooth extraction is dental caries and not due to gum diseases.
The most important signs of gum diseases
1. Color of gingival becomes tiny red, sometimes dark pink.
2. Very smooth gingival surface covered by heavy saliva.
3. Gingival swelling, specially the gingival papilla between teeth which elevated till it reached to the teeth surfaces.

4. Gingival bleeding during little movement , even when it was touched by fingers or during tooth brushing or eating .
5. Producing a very bad odor or smell inside the mouth makes the person uncomfortable and unconfident to stay close to someone.
6. Laceration of external gingival surface leads to the appearance of inner surface of gum. It will cause very severe pain and pus formation in these places.
7. In cases of gum recession where the root surface of the tooth are not covered by gingival tissues, the tooth became very sensitive to touch even with air.

8. Heavy calculus layers formed on teeth especially the lingual surfaces of lower anterior teeth will cause the pressure on gum and make it far from teeth. It also cause injuries and speed up bleeding.

9. As a result of gum recession and resorption of bones that surround teeth, there is a weakness in periodontal support tissues. It lead s to the teeth mobility depending on the severity of the case.
